Work package five

Economics & policy

Measure outcomes, assess costs, and analyse long-term impacts of the CAREPATH approach.

The CAREPATH project is testing a digital toolbox to help people with chronic diseases, like diabetes, heart problems or obesitas manage their health better.

Researchers in our work package (WP5) include colleagues from Academia and Industry. We will work on data from the Netherlands, Sweden, Spain, Israel, and Poland. They want to see not only if the digital toolbox improves patients’ health, but also if it is worth the costs for healthcare systems by studying:

  • How well patients currently take their medicines and what happens when they don’t;
  • How much health could improve if patients stick to treatment better with CAREPATH;
  • The possible costs and savings for patients, doctors, insurers, and society.

By comparing different scenarios, the team will show whether CAREPATH is both effective and affordable, helping decide if it should be widely used in Europe.
